Generally there are two types of water tanks... Poly or Steel, Most tanks are made in Melbourne which is great for local business and warranty issues, The main differences in the two types of tanks are as follows:
Poly tanks are robust, hard to damage, cheaper per liter of water stored, usually quick from order to installation and last a long time before replacement may be required. Steel tanks have a 20 year warranty, generally have a more pleasing look than a plastic tank and possibly provide a better quality taste to the water if drinking from it, The down side is they are more expensive than a poly tank, easily damaged and like everything can breakdown overtime. Pump Systems
Usually where you see a tank you'll find a pump, usually with garden tank or tank for toilet flushing. There either external of the tank or internally mounted being a submersible pump.
